Last Tuesday I was taking calls when a man with a California area code (not that it really matters) comes through and asks:
"What are the interest rates going to be for CD's next year?"
I took a breath and replied that we did not know yet. He pressed on:
"When will you know?"
Gold metal for me because I did not say, "Uh, 2009." I said we would know sometime after January 1, and then he wanted to know if I thought he would be able to get a better rate than the 4.16 that he had been getting.
Really.
