Well, a co-worker made my month today when she said she thought I was thirty. It's a win-win: either I look that good, or maybe she will share some of the mind-altering substances that caused this belief.
I did go to see "Body of Lies" on Saturday at a local theatre. It is not my theatre of choice but a closer and possibly less expensive one. It is like the ramen noodle soup of theatres. I have had lawn chairs more comfortable than the seats. Anyway, normally I am a big fan of previews, but this time there were just too many. I liked the movie. I didn't always follow what precisely was happening, but it kept my interest. For once, Leonardo DiCaprio didn't annoy me. Too much. And, well, this is just a personal opinion but Russell Crowe has rarely seemed more dreamy; despite the extra weight, his character was in control, super confident and just...yummmmyyy.
The one thing that did kind of bother me that wherever DiCaprio was, he usually was driving a huge black Navigator. A) The seems like it would draw attention to an "undercover'" agent, especially because B) it was always sparkling clean. Considering that at one point the bad guys drive around and create a sandstorm effect to conceal their actions, it stretches credulity to think that such a car, such a color would not constantly be covered with dust.
My birthday itself turned out slightly better than expected. One of my co-workers got a balloon and a card and set it by my desk, which was strewn with confetti, and another brought me a lovely gift bag with imported chocolate.
The week at work was very trying. Because of the Columbus Day holiday, the overdraft calls just went on all week, and people are getting more and more (how to say it?)demanding of what they believe a bank ought to do:
Real Quote: "I went to the atm and it told me that I was overdrawn by $350. Why did it then let me take out forty more? It shouldn't have allowed me to after I could see it was overdrawn."
When I suggested that perhaps she ought to have then used the forty dollars to go buy a clue...no, I didn't say that. I did ask her why, if she knew she was overdrawn , why did she still take the money out, knowing it would cause more fees, she said that t just shouldn't have let her and if she did take it out, it wasn't her fault.
At times, there is not enough Excedrin in the entire world to help.
